Bio

Dorian Ross is a public health and environmental professional passionate about advancing healthier, safer, and more sustainable communities through regulation, operations, and cross-sector collaboration. He recently graduated from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Environmental Studies.

Dorian currently serves as an Environmental Health & Compliance Specialist with the City of Dallas Consumer Health Division (Code Compliance Department), where he conducts environmental health inspections and supports enforcement of federal, Texas, and municipal regulations across a jurisdiction of more than 7,000 permitted food establishments and 2,500 temporary vendors. His work includes food safety inspections, environmental risk assessments, complaint investigations, compliance education, and supporting broader public health operations including foodborne illness response, pool safety, and environmental health interventions that protect community well-being.

Prior to joining the City of Dallas, Dorian developed experience across sustainability, consulting, and corporate environments through roles with Accenture, Citigroup, and Tulane Hospitality. Across these experiences, he worked on ESG initiatives, sustainability strategy, environmental performance evaluation, stakeholder engagement, communications, and operations within highly regulated environments—strengthening his interest in the intersection of environmental systems, public policy, business, and compliance.

Outside of his professional work, Dorian is committed to community engagement, environmental justice, and expanding opportunity through service. Through leadership and service experiences including AmeriCorps VISTA and Strong City Tulane, he has supported education, volunteer engagement, and community-centered initiatives focused on improving outcomes and strengthening local communities.

In his free time, Dorian enjoys exploring new cities, trying different restaurants, staying active, and keeping up with current events related to business, policy, and environmental change. Long term, he hopes to continue building a career at the intersection of environmental health, regulation, policy, and law, helping shape systems that promote public health, sustainability, and equity.
